Welcome! My name is Julie, and this is a log of my adventures as I travel and teach in China from March-July of 2015!  I will be teaching a small classroom of 6th graders, helping them to not only learn the English language, but grow and communicate so that they may have an opportunity to learn in America someday.

I’ll be the first one to admit that China has never been on my “places to travel” list, but an opportunity arose for me to live and teach for 4 months in China for almost no cost, which is quite rare.  I figured I’d be crazy not to take this chance, so I signed on almost immediately after a few debates with family and friends. I’ve been looking forward to it for some time, and should be able to travel as well!

Please feel free to browse through “Amazing Adventures”, stories from my experiences that I will post here. From culture shock and strange new rules to traveling around the country, learning bits and pieces of the language as I go, I hope to write as many details as I can. It will be an experience that I will never forget! (When you’re ready to start, click here for the first post, or click on “Amazing Adventures” to see the most recent one!).

Already read a few experiences and want to jump from black-and-white to color? Click on any tab in “Pretty Pictures” and see the sights for yourself! Each tab has a new adventure that I’ve lived through (and taken way too many photos of) Tag along and join the fun!

I’m pleased to invite you along for the ride, and hope that you enjoy reading about my adventures in China!
